Iranian Foreign Ministry: The U.S. should negotiate independently without external influence

On the 10th local time, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Nasser Kanaani stated at a routine press conference that Iran’s negotiation partner is the United States, and the U.S. should make independent decisions without external pressure or “destructive influence.” Kanaani said that one issue facing U.S. diplomacy in West Asia is the long-standing “catering to and following” Israel’s demands, which Israel has been regarded by Iran over the past decades as a major source of regional insecurity. Regarding Iran’s nuclear issue, Kanaani stated that the root cause of the so-called “manufactured crisis” surrounding Iran’s peaceful nuclear program is Israel. He said that Israel has repeatedly claimed over the past 40 years that Iran seeks nuclear weapons, attempting to create an “imaginary fear” in the international community. He emphasized that the so-called “Iranian nuclear bomb” does not exist. Kanaani also stated that Israel has repeatedly played the role of “saboteur,” opposing any diplomatic process that could lead to regional détente. U.S. officials should free themselves from related lobbying pressures and should not let other forces make decisions for U.S. foreign policy. (CCTV News)
