The two-day trilateral talks among Russia, the United States, and Ukraine concluded on the 18th in Geneva, Switzerland, with no documents signed by any party. A well-known European think tank expert told CCTV on the 18th that the core difficult issues facing the Russia-Ukraine conflict remain unresolved in this trilateral negotiation. Jana Puglierin, head and senior policy researcher at the Berlin office of the European Council on Foreign Relations, stated that the Russia-Ukraine conflict has exposed Europe’s long-term reliance on U.S. security guarantees as a vulnerability. She believes that Europe needs to develop long-term plans to enhance its strategic autonomy. In the Russia-Ukraine talks, Europe must participate and cannot remain a bystander. (CCTV News)
