Quantum computing threats are imminent: Why might one-third of Bitcoin be at risk?

【Blockchain Rhythm】 Recently, a hot topic has caused a stir in the community—the threat of quantum computing to Bitcoin.

A compliance platform’s global investment research director bluntly stated: As quantum computing technology advances rapidly, Bitcoin’s long-term security has entered the dark forest. His conclusion is quite sobering—the current $3.3 trillion crypto market has seriously underestimated this risk.

The numbers are even more frightening: about one-third of Bitcoin have exposed wallet public keys, which will face a structural risk in the future—the use of brute force by quantum computers to crack private keys. Although quantum computing is still in its infancy, this is no longer a theoretical issue; it is a real and tangible threat.

Where is the real killer? It’s not mining efficiency, but the security of digital signatures. Once quantum computers have enough computing power, attackers can reverse-engineer private keys from public keys and directly steal your Bitcoin. This is the core threat.

Industry leaders are also becoming uneasy. Institutions like BlackRock have explicitly pointed out the risk factors of quantum computing in Bitcoin ETF filings, and researchers estimate that this problem could become a real threat within 4 to 5 years.

Damn, one-third of Bitcoin is at risk? I need to quickly check if my wallet public key has been exposed. Feeling a bit anxious.

Hmm... One-third of BTC public keys are exposed? This is something that needs to be taken seriously, not just alarmist talk. If quantum computing really arrives, cracking private keys would be game over. We need to find a way to upgrade the protocol. Public key exposure is indeed a hidden danger. It's better to migrate to post-quantum cryptography early, rather than waiting to be exploited. If we don't defend in advance this time and quantum computing power surpasses expectations, that will be a true black swan event. Regulatory agencies have finally spoken out. The market is indeed underestimating the risk, and we need to keep a close eye on this development.

Damn, one-third of Bitcoin is exposed? That's terrifying. Quantum computing is really coming, and we're doomed; private keys can't be protected at all. It's another "wolf is coming" story, but this time it feels truly different. Honestly, people holding coins now should be panicking. The problem is, no one knows when quantum will really pose a threat. That's why I only dare to hold positions and can't sleep peacefully. But to be fair, why is the industry only starting to speak out now? Why didn't anyone pay attention before? Is quantum breaking public keys really happening, or is it just another hype? Feels like these kinds of news come every now and then. The 3 trillion market has underestimated the risk, which means it's all just inflated now, right?

Damn, one-third of BTC exposed to quantum computing power? Now that's really scary. --- Still talking about quantum threats? Wake up, if it was really coming, we would have already lost all our coins. --- The dark forest, huh? Is it still okay to transfer to a cold wallet now? --- Public keys can be cracked by quantum computers. How can you still dare to HODL, brother? --- Isn't it in the cradle? Why is the threat suddenly so close? I don't get it. --- Breaking digital signatures is the real killer move; mining and other things are all fake. --- Is 3.3 trillion underestimated this risk? What should institutions do then? --- Everyone says quantum is still far away, so why are people panic dumping now? --- My wallet's public key has already been exposed. Is it already hopeless now? --- If this really happens, how fast would the migration to post-quantum solutions need to be?

Something doesn't seem right. One-third of Bitcoin is just exposed like that? How come no one has truly solved this over the years? Wait, if quantum computing really arrives, not just Bitcoin, the entire cryptography system will have to be rewritten. Damn, this is the real black swan event, much more terrifying than policy risks. Public keys are exposed, and they're still sleeping peacefully. Are these people really not afraid or just completely unaware? So should we start migrating to quantum-resistant addresses now, or is it already too late?

Damn, is 1/3 of BTC about to be wiped out? Quantum computing has really arrived this time --- It's the same old rhetoric, making it sound like the end of the world. We should have upgraded the protocol long ago --- People exposing public keys should be worried, but our new wallet doesn't have this problem --- The term "dark forest" is used perfectly, it’s indeed a bit creepy --- Wait, can quantum computers really crack private keys? Or is this just hype --- If digital signatures are broken, it's over. 3.3 trillion gone? Crazy --- This is even more disgusting than a 51% attack, there's no defense --- They're still scaring us in the cradle, come on --- Here's the question: who is secretly working on quantum computing --- I just want to know when the big institutions will run away

I've already said it before, the quantum threat was thoroughly covered in my course three years ago. Those who are only realizing it now are already late. Are one-third of the coins gone? Opportunity only knocks once, everyone. Hurry up and develop protective strategies. This is the true commanding height.

Really, one-third of BTC public keys are exposed? That’s the real hidden danger. --- Quantum computing is bound to come sooner or later, but no one really takes it seriously. --- Wait, does this mean my coins are now at risk? Aren’t we supposed to wait until quantum computing matures? --- The term "Dark Forest" is used perfectly; it feels like the entire market is betting on quantum coming later. --- Having your private key reverse-engineered is truly despairing, much scarier than a 51% attack. --- A market worth 3.3 trillion, yet they are so laid-back about this risk—really impressive. --- So, can transferring to a cold wallet now avoid this risk? Or is the public key unrecoverable once exposed? --- Even compliance supervisors are starting to panic, indicating the situation is more urgent than imagined. --- Quantum computing is already terrifying in its infancy; once it truly matures, what will happen? --- Now I understand why institutions are stockpiling assets other than BTC.

Damn, one-third of the coins are risky? I need to check my wallet immediately... Quantum computing is really coming, do we all have to transfer funds again? This issue should have been taken seriously long ago, but unfortunately most people are still dreaming Public key exposure directly breaks the private key, that sounds ridiculous When quantum truly matures, do we have to migrate all the coins we hold now? The term "Dark Forest" is so fitting, it feels a bit hopeless Wallet security must be upgraded, no more delays The projects that can survive this round should be recognized
