Foresight News reports that Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin stated that if someone wants to establish a new “AI laboratory, because existing laboratories are not beneficial to humanity,” then there should be clear regulations focusing on human enhancement tools and not developing any projects with autonomous operation exceeding 1 minute. He believes that even if all safety-related arguments are wrong, companies pursuing maximum autonomy in ASI will continue to emerge, while the human enhancement niche remains underdeveloped. Additionally, he called for open-sourcing as much as possible.
