Nordex Group has clinched a contract to deliver and erect 12 N133/4.8 wind turbines for the Drumnahough Wind Farm project in County Donegal, Ireland. The initiative represents a strategic collaboration between SSE and FuturEnergy Ireland, bringing approximately 60 MW of generating capacity to the grid upon completion.
The partnership underscores the ongoing expansion of renewable infrastructure across Ireland. The wind farm will benefit from Nordex’s long-term Premium Service agreement, ensuring optimal turbine performance and system reliability throughout the asset’s operational lifecycle.
According to Jason Welch, Managing Director UK & Ireland at the Nordex Group, “This contract award reflects our growing presence in Ireland’s energy sector and demonstrates continued confidence in our wind turbine technology for large-scale projects. The Drumnahough development is yet another critical step in accelerating the nation’s transition toward sustainable energy sources.”
Installation activities are anticipated to begin in 2027, with full deployment scheduled to follow. The project marks another significant milestone in Nordex’s portfolio of Irish renewable energy installations and reinforces the company’s position as a key supplier in the UK and Ireland markets.
