Golden Finance reports that on April 28, according to the U.S. Atlantic Monthly, during a closed-door meeting, U.S. Vice President Vance repeatedly challenged the U.S. Department of Defense’s descriptions of the war in Iran and questioned whether the Pentagon had played down the severity of the rapid depletion of U.S. missile stockpiles. Two senior government officials said that Vance raised doubts about the accuracy of the war information provided by the Pentagon. Multiple people with knowledge of the matter said that, in discussions with President Trump, he also expressed concerns about the availability of certain missile systems. The consequences of a sharp reduction in ammunition reserves could be catastrophic. Previously, U.S. Secretary of Defense Hegseth and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Cain had both publicly stated that America’s weapons stockpiles are still sufficient and said that after eight weeks of fighting, the Iranian military had been badly mauled.( East New China News Agency )
