BNB Chain releases optimization plan to cope with surge in traffic, will prioritize handling memes coin transactions
Odaily Planet Daily News According to official sources, BNB Chain has released the first optimization solution aimed at coping with the surge in traffic. The team observed that during peak traffic periods, many transactions were not included in the Block in a timely manner. This means that even if users increase the gas fee (transaction fee) to speed up the transaction, they may not necessarily get the priority they expect. Although there are many potential contributing factors, a key issue is that validator nodes do not always prioritize blocks with the highest overall value (i.e., the most profitable block based on transaction fees). The current design of BNB Chain prioritizes getting all transactions on chain as quickly as possible to minimize the average wait time in the mempool. This approach is suitable for most typical use cases. However, it is not the best choice for fast-paced, high-risk Meme coin transactions, as minor price fluctuations may have a significant impact. Therefore, the team is refining its strategy to prioritize Block value, especially when dealing with key transactions. In other words, it will give higher priority to transactions interacting with time-sensitive (Meme coins) contracts. This upgrade will introduce a brief waiting period before Block sealing, as long as there is enough time within the 3-second Block window. This will allow validators to collect more bids, increase the chance of including the best bids, and improve overall Block building performance, especially during peak network activity. This change also provides more time for bid collection, which may result in more efficient Block building. Yesterday, according to Nansen data, BNB Chain surpassed Ethereum in total gas fees in the past 7 days. Nansen CEO Alex Svanevik said, ‘To my knowledge, this is the first time in history.’ CZ commented, ‘Take it slow, steady progress.’
