Bank of America: Institutional investors are buying U.S. stocks on dips, while hedge funds and retail investors are choosing to sell.
BlockBeats News, November 12 — Bank of America stated that last week, institutional clients net bought US stocks, with ETF inflows of $4.3 billion, the largest flow since December 2022, despite selling $2.6 billion worth of individual stocks during the same period. Institutional investors were the only net buyers, while hedge funds and retail investors chose to sell stocks. Industry fund flows showed a defensive tilt, with outflows from technology and communication services sectors, and inflows into consumer staples and healthcare sectors. Bank of America noted that since corporate buybacks remain below seasonal levels of previous years, institutional investors have replaced retail investors as the main buyers on dips this year.
