CryptoWorld News reports that the Asian Development Bank (ADB) announced on May 3rd that it will provide $70 billion in funding support before 2035 for two new initiatives: the "Pan-Asian Power Grid Initiative" and the "Asia-Pacific Digital Highway," aiming to promote interconnected power grids in the Asia-Pacific region, expand cross-border electricity trade, and improve broadband access. The ADB stated that the Pan-Asian Power Grid Initiative will facilitate the interconnection of national and sub-regional power systems, enabling cross-border flow of renewable energy, while the Asia-Pacific Digital Highway will help bridge the digital infrastructure gap, allowing the region to benefit from AI-driven growth. By 2035, the ADB will allocate a total of $50 billion for cross-border power infrastructure development and $20 billion to support digital corridors, data infrastructure, and other related projects.
