Baron Trump is expected to take over TikTok! The 19-year-old, 2-meter-tall, sparks family jealousy controversy
According to Jack Advent, former social media manager for President Trump, Trump’s 19-year-old son Barron Trump could become a senior executive candidate at TikTok. Trump previously claimed that he “saved” TikTok, and users now “owe” his government a favor. Barron Trump is 6 feet 9 inches tall, making him the tallest in the family, and his brother Eric Trump has repeatedly made sarcastic comments about Barron’s height.

Barron Trump is considered a popular candidate for TikTok’s CEO position. His father previously told users that they “owe” him a favor because he saved the platform. 22-year-old former social media manager Jack Advent suggested that Trump should have his teenage son hold a position on the social media platform to boost its appeal among young people.
“Most TikTok users are young people,” Advent told The Daily Mail. “I hope President Trump considers appointing his son Barron Trump and some other young Americans to TikTok’s board to ensure the app continues to be popular among the youth.” The logic behind this suggestion is that Barron, as a representative of Generation Z, understands the needs and preferences of young users better.
Recently, Barron moved back to the White House while attending classes at New York University’s Washington, D.C. campus, but he has not commented on Advent’s statement. According to his mother, First Lady Melania Trump, Barron is one of the key factors in Trump’s 2024 victory. The Republican leader also claimed that his son advised him to appear on Joe Rogan’s podcast, which is considered one of the most successful media operations during the campaign.
Trump’s relationship with TikTok has been complicated. During his first term, he hinted that the app “could allow the Chinese Communist Party to access Americans’ personal and proprietary information.” However, Trump later revoked the ban on the social media platform in January 2025, allowing continued use until a U.S.-based buyer was found. This policy shift was interpreted as a delicate balance between Trump family business interests and political positions.
Advent, nicknamed “TikTok Jack” by Trump, told The Daily Mail that the president “fulfilled his promise to save TikTok,” and the president himself expressed the same view. “To all young TikTok users, I saved TikTok, so you owe me a favor,” Trump posted on the platform after signing an executive order. This “favor exchange” statement sparked polarized reactions on social media.
U.S. TikTok Acquisition and Political Interests
On Thursday, Trump signed an executive order allowing U.S. investors to obtain an authorized copy of TikTok’s powerful recommendation algorithm. U.S. companies will hold about 65% of TikTok’s U.S. version, with ByteDance, TikTok’s parent company, and other Chinese investors holding less than 20%. The remaining approximately 15% will be held by other investors. This ownership structure aims to balance national security concerns with commercial interests.
According to Trump, the new investor group will be led by Oracle, a software company owned by 81-year-old tech billionaire and Republican donor Larry Ellison. Trump stated at a press conference that media mogul Rupert Murdoch and Dell Technologies CEO Michael Dell will also become new shareholders. The president called this group “excellent investors,” noting that they are all long-term supporters and donors of the Republican Party.
Ownership Structure of U.S. TikTok
U.S. Company Ownership: approximately 65% (led by Oracle, with Rupert Murdoch and Michael Dell involved)
ByteDance and Chinese Investors: less than 20%
Other Investors: about 15%
This arrangement has sparked widespread questions about conflicts of interest between politics and business. If Barron Trump truly joins TikTok’s board or takes a senior role, the Trump family would directly benefit from the president’s policy decisions. This mirrors the Trump family’s business expansion into the cryptocurrency sector, where political influence is used to open up commercial opportunities.
Previously, Trump also suggested that the platform could prioritize MAGA content. “I’ve always liked things related to MAGA (Make America Great Again),” he said. “If possible, I would make it 100% MAGA.” However, he later claimed that “all groups will be treated fairly.” These contradictory statements show Trump’s attempt to balance his political base with platform neutrality.
Comments under Trump’s posts are divided: some say he “saved everything,” while others plead, “Please don’t manipulate TikTok.” This polarization reflects the divided attitudes in American society toward Trump’s policies.
Height of 206 cm Sparks Family Jealousy

Barron Trump’s tall stature drew a sarcastic compliment from his brother Eric Trump, revealing subtle internal family competition. Imagine what it’s like to live in a family where 6 feet 5 inches (about 1.96 meters) is considered short. Eric Trump, the second son, apparently feels this way, despite being taller than his father Donald Trump and brother Donald Jr., who are 6 feet 3 inches (about 1.90 meters) and 6 feet 1 inch (about 1.85 meters), respectively.
In an interview with The Daily Telegraph’s column “The Daily T” on November 6, 2025, Eric Trump revealed that he used to be the tallest in the family but now has become the “short one” because his brother Barron is 6 feet 9 inches tall. Eric said he was used to looking down on everyone, but since Barron started attending New York University at age 15, he has had to look up to him.
“He’s very tall,” Eric said with a smile, then added, “He might be too tall.” This seemingly complimenting yet sarcastic remark suggests Eric is subtly criticizing Barron for no longer being the tallest in the family. His words imply that Barron’s height is somehow abnormal, though that’s not true. It’s clear that height is beyond anyone’s control.
This isn’t the first time Eric has joked about Barron’s height. In October 2025, Eric appeared on the “PBD Podcast,” where he discussed his brother. After watching an old video of Donald Trump holding baby Barron, Eric joked that he agreed with their father’s comments but said Barron’s height “really annoys me.” He also sarcastically complained about no longer being the tallest in the family. “He’s only 15. I stood back-to-back with him, and he’s a quarter of an inch taller than me,” Eric said. “I was standing there thinking, ‘This is terrible.’”
Donald Trump also seems to be jealous of Barron’s height. The former president has repeatedly lied about his own height and has seized every opportunity to talk about Barron’s stature, including during a guest appearance on the “IMPAULSIVE” podcast in June 2024. Donald complained that he couldn’t get Barron to play basketball and instead had him play soccer. “He’s very tall, no doubt about it,” Donald admitted. “I told Barron, ‘I don’t want to take pictures with you.’” It seems Donald’s ego is hurt by his son being much taller than him.
